Food from house of Habesha amazing as always! Staff unbelievably rude, rolling eyes, you have to wait to be seated for them to just point at a general vicinity. One staff member will say only 3 heaters work at one time while security say they don’t work full stop. And just tell you to move it cold. The food vendors have stalls elsewhere and that’s where I’d recommend to go.

I entered on the day and was pleasantly greeted by Kaiser who was the security guard for the day, he gave us a rundown of how the venue worked, it had got a cool menu system that lets you see all the available stalls and it'll automatically assign your table number once you sit down and scan the code. The variety of food is insane, I saw a wide selection from Eastern European, Mediterranean, Mexican, Italian, and SO MUCH MORE! I initially went in for a quick bite but I ended up snagging the loaded lamb fries and a hot chocolate cause of how much stuff was on the menu. So to start with, the hot chocolate is something that rivaled the hot chocolates I've made for myself and friends and family at home (and I'll be honest I make pretty good hot chocolate! Not to humble brag) but yeah it was divine. The loaded fries are stunning, it gets better as you get to the centre of the fries pool and I swear I don't know what they infused into the fries but they had me wanting a second and third portion!! Oh, another thing, the DJ at the time had such a wonderful time with the tracks, I loved the live set, one of the first times I've been to one in person so I didn't know what to expect but it was banger after banger, all at a perfect volume that didn't disturb the meal or any conversations me and my friends were having. I don't find myself in Manchester all too often but this is a place that will be bringing me back to Manchester again in future even if it's for a quick revisit to Mala. Genuinely I want to give my biggest thanks to all the staff there today!

Long-time customer of Chapter One Books and I'd been in Mala a handful of times if everywhere else was busy. Combining Chapter One Books with Mala is one of the worst things they could have done. Nobody was asking for this at all. Mala struggles to fill it's seats sometimes, something that Chapter One Books never had a problem with. Completely different feel now, I am actually astounded by what they've done to this place in a few weeks. It's no longer the quiet coffee shop open late, I don't see myself returning anytime soon.
